Programs for grades 1–3
The story of Medulka the bee
Set out with the children into the magical world of bees and discover life in the hive through the eyes of Medulka the bee. Together, we will find out who makes up the bee family, how bees collect nectar and pollen, how honey is made and why bees are so important to nature.
In a movement game, the children will try out the work of one bee profession.
The children will look at live bees in glass hives, try out selected beekeeping tools, learn about beeswax and make a fragrant candle with their own hands, which they can take home as a lovely memento of their visit.
Program duration: 90 minutes
Admission: 150 Kč / pupil

The bee and its mission
How does a bee hive work? Who cares for the queen, who builds the honeycomb and which bees fly out to collect nectar and pollen? Through play, the children will learn about the individual members of the bee family and their important tasks.
In a movement game, they will then try out the work of one bee profession in practice (the activity is chosen with regard to the children’s age).
The children will see live bees in glass hives, try out some beekeeping tools and learn about plants in the herb garden that are part of the bees’ forage. At the end, they will take home a small gift in the form of a beeswax candle they have made themselves.
Program duration: 100 minutes
Admission: 150 Kč / pupil

Programs for grades 3–5
Experience the world of bees with all your senses
Join us in discovering the fascinating world of bees through sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. The children will learn who makes up the bee family, what tasks the individual bees perform and everything bees can create for people and nature.
Together, we will look into the life of a live bee colony in a glass hive, listen to the sounds of bees, taste honey and try navigating by scents, just like bees do. We will learn about the properties of beeswax, and everyone will make their own candle from it. The program also includes a team activity involving the construction of a bee hive.
Program duration: 120 minutes
Admission: 150 Kč / pupil

The busy life of bees
What is life like in a hive, and why are bees considered some of the busiest creatures in nature? Through interactive activities, the children will learn more about the members of the bee family, their tasks and everything bees can create, as well as why they are indispensable to people.
We will observe a live bee colony in a glass hive, try out some beekeeping tools and learn about the properties of beeswax. Each participant will make their own candle from beeswax and take it home.
The program also includes a practical activity in which the children will try out one of the important “bee professions”.
Program duration: 120 minutes
Admission: 150 Kč / pupil

The bee and its forage
You already know about the life of bees; now join us in following them into a world of flowers, scents and changes in nature throughout the year. The children will learn everything bees need for their lives, where they find food and why a diverse, flowering landscape is important to them. Together, we will find out which plants bloom in spring, summer and autumn and how the availability of bee forage changes with the seasons.
In the herb garden, we will get to know fragrant herbs and other plants that bees visit most often. The children will smell them, explore their uses and, at the end, make their own bath salt with herbs from the bees’ forage. They will also learn about other pollinators.
This program can take place in May, June and September.
Program duration: 120 minutes
Admission: 150 Kč / pupil
