Program for adults and seniors
Discover the fascinating world of bees up close
Designed for academies of the third age, interest groups, community groups, companies and other collectives, the program offers an engaging exploration of the life of bees, their importance to people and the contemporary landscape.
Participants will learn about how a bee colony functions, bee communication, the development of individual members of the hive and the beekeeper’s work throughout the year. They will find out how bee products are created – honey, wax, propolis, pollen and royal jelly – and how they are used in everyday life, gastronomy, cosmetics and traditional medicine.
The program includes a viewing of live bees in glass hives, a presentation of beekeeping tools, short films about the life of bees and practical activities. Participants can try working with some of the tools, identify bee forage plants in the herb garden and make a wax candle as a small souvenir of their visit.
The program also explores current topics related to the importance of pollinators, changes in the landscape and the threats bees face today. It takes place in a pleasant atmosphere and encourages sharing experiences, discussion and active participation.
We always adapt the program to the age, focus and interests of the specific group.
